Solidarity - USA - Truckers Mobilize to Deliver Aid
MONTGOMERY, Ala,USA -Washington Post, by SAMIRA JAFARI/The Associated Press -Aug 31, 2005: -- Truck driver Tim Cupp hasn't had a decent shower in a couple of days and is bored out of his mind, but he isn't about to gripe. As one of some 150 truckers waiting at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base to take food, water, ice and blankets to Hurricane Katrina's victims, Cupp said he feels lucky to at least have a truck to sleep in... "It's a good feeling to help. They don't have food, no water, blankets or anything," said Cupp, of Brunswick, Ga., who is ready to deliver a truck full of Meals-Ready-to-Eat. "It's hard to put yourself in their shoes"... More than 100 big rigs from as far away as California and Wisconsin have already left Montgomery to aid Katrina's victims in southwest Alabama...
