* Turkey - Fiat's Turkish partner, Tofas, unveils plans for N.A. van exports, new cars

Istanbul,Turkey -Automotive News Europe -February 11, 2013: -- Fiat's Turkish partner, Tofas, disclosed plans to export the Doblo small commercial van to North America and also said it is working on two new passenger cars for local and export markets... Chrysler Group will market a Ram-badged version of the Doblo... Tofas will own the patent rights for both cars which are expected to be sold under the Fiat brand...

* Mexico - The 2014 Ram ProMaster

* India - Eicher to revamp truck, bus line-up

Mumbai,India -Business Standard, by Swaraj Baggonkar -February 13, 2013: -- New products in commercial vehicle segment, upgradation of existing ones will take place during 2013-2015... The ongoing slump in demand for commercial vehicles notwithstanding Delhi-based Eicher Motors is revamping its entire truck and bus line-up to strengthen its portfolio and to boost its market share. The company, which has a joint venture with Sweden's Volvo, said that new products in the commercial vehicle segment and upgradation exercise of existing ones will take place in three years, 2013-2015. VE Commercial Vehicles is the brand as well as the joint venture company under which trucks and buses of not just its own but that of Eicher and Volvo are sold. Eicher Motors will spend Rs 1,200 crore towards research and development, new bus body plant and new products over 2013 and 2014...

* Sweden - Volvo invests in DriveCam 

Stockholm,Sweden -Fleet Owner -Feb. 13, 2013: -- Volvo Group Venture Capital, a subsidiary of Sweden’s Volvo Group, is making what it calls a "strategic investment" in DriveCam to become a minority shareholder in the company. No monetary figures or other details were disclosed... Johan Carlsson, president of Volvo Group Venture Capital, said the reason for the investment is that the two companies share what he terms a “common vision,” which is to reduce traffic accidents worldwide...

* India - Daimler to launch new trucks, expand distribution network in 2013

  Chennai,India -India Today -February 14, 2013: -- German automobile maker Daimler AG that launched heavy duty trucks in 2012 under the brand BharatBenz will start marketing its light and medium duty trucks and also expand its distribution network in 2013, the company said Thursday... In a statement issued by Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimber AG here, the company will be launching light and medium duty trucks during 2013... Daimler India closed 2012 launching three models of its heavy duty range (25-tonne Rigid, 25-tonne Construction and the 31-tonne Construction) and selling 1,098 units...
