* Kentucky - Navistar to launch own ELD, telematics hardware
--- Truck maker Navistar Inc. said it will launch its own aftermarket telematics device and electronic logging application in midsummer. The hardware plugs into the truck’s service port and will be available for all Classes 6-8 makes and models from 2007 and newer... The system, named OnCommand Connection Telematics, will include Navistar’s OnCommand Connection open-architecture remote diagnostics system, which relies on integrations with third-party telematics systems from more than two dozen technology vendors... The first application available on that open marketplace will be Navistar’s own OnCommand Connection Electronic Driver Log, designed to help carriers comply with the federal electronic logging mandate, which goes into effect Dec. 18... Navistar’s ELD will pair with Android and Apple devices, Kline said...
