* Georgia - Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner Sprinter vans recalled for drive shaft defect
--- Daimler Vans USA is recalling 1,248 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner vehicles because a piece supporting the drive shaft could become loose... The recall affects 2016 Sprinter 2500 and 3500 models manufactured from Aug. 2, 2016 and Nov. 14, 2016... Poor welding of a support bracket for the drive shaft may cause the piece to become loose during a collision. If this happens, the drive shaft could damage the fuel system and cause fuel to leak. This situation increases the risk of a fire... No crashes or injuries related to this defect have been reported...
