ROAD TRAFFIC CONTROL * France: One third of the LGV checked in violation

* Paris - Road traffic control of light commercial vehicles: 73 violations detected in 6 hours

--- In Île-de-France, the State services carried out a roadside inspection operation targeting light commercial vehicles. Balance sheet: 73 offenses, of which 47 related to unfair competition... Successful road control operation in Île-de-France. On 16 March, from 6 am to 12 noon, in a the coordinated checking operation alongside the security forces, Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne and Seine-Saint-Denis. They specifically targeted light commercial vehicles, in particular breaches of competition rules... The result is convincing. "Of 89 light commercial vehicles (LCVs) of less than 3.5 tonnes that were checked, 46 of which were registered outside France, 28 were in violation," said a prefecture of Ile-de-France. Of these 28, 14 vehicles were French (11 overloaded) and 14 non-residents, the prefecture said... The operation it's part of one of the eleven weeks of cabotage observation programmed by the European Commission to control specifically light commercial vehicles used for road transport on behalf of others and in particular The non-residents, which we have observed in recent years a rapid growth, specifies the Prefecture...
