* New Brunswick - Nfld budget hits trucks with spikes for diesel, HST, permits
--- The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association says Newfoundland & Labrador’s new provincial budget will hit hard with its five-cents per litre diesel tax jump combined with a 2% harmonized sales tax increase that will now affect vehicle insurance premiums on top of new fee spikes for licences and permits... Jean-Marc Picard, executive director of the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association, said, “The trucking industry is going to feel the effects of these costs increase for a long time and likely puts some companies at risk of shutting down” ... The HST increase kicks in July 1 when it will move from 13 to 15%...
