-- If Mack Trucks chooses to beef up operations, local officials are taking steps to make sure the heavy-duty truck manufacturer looks no farther than Lower Macungie... That point was emphasized Thursday, when Lower Macungie's Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted a resolution of support for Mack's local operations, including its 1-million-square-foot plant in the township where 1,870 people work. Mack is Lower Macungie's largest employer... In the resolution, the board agreed to facilitate and execute permits and approvals related to construction and renovations of Mack's local operations in a "prompt and efficient manner" ... The resolution was prepared in combination with Mack company officials. Township Manager Bruce Fosselman said the resolution was put together to show Sweden-based Volvo Group, Mack's parent company, what the township thinks of Mack's presence in the area...
