* Nevada - Survey reveals shared economy platforms leading Uber-Style trucking revolution

-- On the Move Systems (OMVS) notes a new survey is forecasting that trucking will soon see an Uber-style transformation, where shared economy platforms and apps, like the one now under development by OMVS, will play a major role in operations and revenue-generation. Indeed, by 2025, survey authors Frost & Sullivan boldly predict such platforms will generate $26.4 billion in freight movement revenues... The biggest advantage online, on-demand platforms offer, the study said, is route optimization. This advantage will permit companies to more effectively utilize equipment and human resources to ensure each mile a truck is driven produces revenue instead of hauling an empty trailer...
