TROUBLED TRUCKING * USA: Henley Trucking
Henley Trucking (see video)
-- Hiring a company to move a mobile home without anyone coming out to look at the project first sounds like a recipe for trouble... That trouble is exactly what one Lonoke county man got on moving day... When the owner of a mobile home told Matthew Evans that if he moved it he could keep it, Evans called Henley Trucking of Alexander to do the job... It's a call he wishes he could take back... Evans paid $500.00 up front...almost half of what the move from Sherwood to Scott was going to cost... We visited with Johnny Henley a week ago by phone. He told us that 40 to 50 percent of the time there are problems with a mobile home and he can't move it... Last week when we requested to do an interview, and Johnny Henley told us he would be out of town until at least Thursday. When he didn't, we called his wife and told her we wanted to visit with him. We did the same Friday but never heard back. We visited his home and no one was there... We have also been contacted by two more people who say Henley took their money and never moved their manufactured home... Bill and Vernetta Hill of Bigelow say they paid Henley Trucking Company $1,400.00 last summer and Teresa Lawson says her daughter and son-in-law paid Henley $1,600.00. She says Henley did refund $860.00 after failing to move the mobile home...
