* Connecticut - Second acquisition in a week: Bridge Terminal Transport Services
-- XPO Logistics has announced its second acquisition in a week, saying it will buy port trucking provider Bridge Terminal Transport Services... The $US100 million ($127m) acquisition will give the Greenwich, Connecticut-based firm greater ability to handle shipments at US gateways and potentially align some of its logistics and transport services with business the company is gaining through its recently announced purchase of French logistics firm Norbert Dentressangle... Bridge Terminal runs trucking, or drayage, service at 28 port terminals and intermodal rail facilities using about 1300 independent truck drivers... The purchase is the largest in a series of acquisitions that have transformed the company. Its purchases last year of logistics operators Pacer International, New Breed Logistics, and Atlantic Central Logistics... The deal for Bridge still faces antitrust approval and certain closing conditions. XPO it's one of the largest country’s largest operators in the highly fragmented port trucking services business...
