* Indiana - Ford’s 2016 F-650 and F-750 will boast quieter cabs, improved telematics service
-- At the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Ford teased the upcoming release of its new vocational trucks with a couple of announcements... First, Ford says the cab of both the 2016 F-650 and F-750 is 45 percent quieter at idle and 25 percent quieter while driving than the previous generation models. Ford attributes the change to its integrated powertrain on the F-650/F-750... The second announcement was the expansion of the automaker’s telematics service, now named Ford Telematics, to the F-650 and F-750. The system is powered by Telogis and consists of cloud-based applications that handle everything from reporting idle time and emissions, to scoring driver performance and helping to manage fuel consumption... The system is already available on F-150 and Super Duty pickups and will be introduced for the F-650 and F-750 when the trucks launch this summer... * Illinois - Navistar Q1 revenues up, losses down
-- Revenues for its first fiscal quarter of 2015 hit $2.4 billion for an increase of 10% over the same period in 2014, according to Navistar International Corp. The company also reported a net loss of $42 million for the quarter, compared to a loss of $248 million in Q1 2014... The revenue increase was driven by a 17% improvement in Class 6-8 trucks and buses sales in the U.S.A. and Canada. School buses lead the improvement with a 42% jump over Q1 2014, while medium-duty trucks showed a 25% increase and heavy trucks a 7% increase. Navistar also reported that higher export truck sales helped offset a decline in used truck sales for the first fiscal quarter... The truck maker’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, income tax, depreciation and amortization) for the quarter were positive at $101 million versus a loss of $110 million last year... - Lisle, Illinois, USA - Fleet Owner - Mar 3, 2015
