* Amended Law on Highways to facilitate shifting of cargo to water transport


-- New version of the Federal Law No 257-FL “On Highways and Road Traffic” will facilitate shifting of cargo from road and rail transport to water transport, regional journalist of IAA PortNews cites Evgeny Moskvichev, head of the State Duma Transport Committee, as saying at the joint extended meeting of the Public Council under Rostov Region’s Transport Ministry... According to Moskvichev, the new version is to ban road transportation of loose cargo exceeding 40 t. Large volumes can be transported only by heavy-weight trucks the share of which is only 2%... The bill provides for fines of up to RUB 1 mln. ...
