ALTERNATIVE FUELS * USA: Pittsburgh looks to add biodiesel fuel systems to trucks

* Pennsylvania - The trucks will be able to run: Recycled cooking oil, non food-grade corn oil from the ethanol industry and rendered animal fat

-- Pittsburgh is looking to add new fuel systems to 20 trucks in the Department of Public Works that will allow the engines to run on biodiesel as well as traditional fuel, reducing emissions and expenses... Legislation will be introduced at City Council today authorizing the city to enter into a $150,000 agreement with Optimus Technologies, a five-year old North Point Breeze company, that includes installation of the systems and a biofuel refueling station... The trucks will be able to run on a variety of biodiesel options provided by Optimus CEO, Colin Huwyler said, including recycled cooking oil, non food-grade corn oil from the ethanol industry and rendered animal fat...
