* Chennai - Ashok Leyland launches 'Partner'

Chennai,Tamil Nadu,India -Business Today, by N Madhavan -January 30, 2014: -- Today is a red letter day in the history of Ashok Leyland Ltd, Indian second-biggest truck maker. For the first time in over 60 years of its existence, the company can boast of having the entire product range of trucks. It finally plugged the gap in its product portfolio and is now present across all major segments of the Indian commercial vehicle segment after it launched Partner - a light commercial vehicle that can carry load of 4 tonne... With this, the company is present at the less than 3.5 tonne LCV segment (through Dost), in the 3.5 to 7 tonne LCV segment (through Partner), 8 to 16 tonne segment (through Boss range of trucks) and in the 16 tonne and above (through Captain range)...


* Mumbai - Daimler rolls out four new truck models

Mumbai,India -Press Trust of India -January 31, 2014: -- German truck maker Daimler, which sells heavy duty trucks in the domestic market under the brand name Bharat Benz, today rolled out four new models in the medium and heavy duty segment, priced between Rs 21-35 lakh... Daimler India Commercial Vehicle, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Dailmer AG, had introduced its first series of trucks in September 2012... The company has sold 7,500 trucks since its launch and with the roll-out of four more trucks, including one mining tipper, BharatBenz is now present in all major trucking segments, Daimler India Commercial Vehicle Managing Director and Chief Executive Marc Listosella said...


* Tamil Nadu - Isuzu launches multi-utility pickup truck

Thiruvallur,Tamil Nadu,India -Press Trust of India, by Greater Noida -February 5, 2014: -- Japanese auto maker Isuzu Motors today launched a multi-utility pickup truck targeting small and medium entrepreneurs, which will be priced in the range of Rs 7-8 lakh... The company, which unveiled 'Isuzu D-Max Space Cab', will assemble the vehicle at the Hindustan Motors facility in Tamil Nadu in the next few months... The vehicle which will be powered by 2.5 litre diesel engine will be available in the company's showrooms across the country including Delhi...
