TRUCKS SALES * European registrations up for good

These increases nevertheless have to be seen in the light of the very poor performance last year during the same period, and are still not enough to claw back the drop in registrations over the first eight months of the year. It will be recalled that the cumulative total for the first eight months of 2009 was still influenced by orders placed in 2008, before the onset of the crisis…

Isolation units are mounted on these vehicles allow the company to isolate all kinds of objects to the 4 corners of the Netherlands. Delivery of vehicles is handled by the concession of Rijssen Twente Baan...


* UK - Abel & Cole sees organic growth with Daily chassis cabs

Plough Lane,Wimbledon,UK -Transport Engineer, by Brian Tinham -15 Oct 2010: -- Organic food delivery firm Abel & Cole has replaced 20 five year-old 3.5 tonne Iveco Daily panel vans with new Daily chassis cabs, equipped with custom-built refrigerated bodywork. The vehicles have been optimised for payload and driver accessibility, with flexible shelving and a roof height that allows drivers to stand-up inside. The power plant is Fiat Powertrain Technologies' new 2.3-litre common rail diesel. The vans also have independent front suspension, a very tight turning circle for manoeuvrability and demonstrate good traction via their rear wheel drive... Incidentally, each was also specified with Iveco's Blue & me Bluetooth connectivity, together with a Cybit Fleet Star satellite tracking system... * UK - Wakefield and District Housing swaps Fords for Citroëns

Castleford,Wakefield,UK -Transport Engineer, by Brian Tinham -14 Oct 2010: -- As part of a four-year fleet replacement programme, Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) is taking delivery of the first of more than 350 Citroën Nemo, Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay LCVs...   Paul Clarke, WDH supplies manager, says the move away from its current Ford LCV fleet is part of the organisation's bid to reduce carbon footprint while increasing fleet efficiency and cutting its size by 15%...   WDH will take delivery of some 217 Citroën LCVs in 2010, followed by a further 130 in 2011, around 40 in 2012 and a smaller, unspecified number in 2013...    The Citroën Nemo vans will be used by WDH's supervisors, while Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay LCVs are for the trades...
