Fuel efficiency - UK - New cars, improved efficiency significantly over the past year
London,UK -Fleet Europe (Belgium), by Tim Harrup -13 Oct 2010: -- According to a study carried out by DrivenData, fuel efficiency from new cars sold in the UK has improved significantly over the past year. The improvements made over the past four years are even more significant. Average fuel consumption (manufacturers’ figures) in 2006 was 37.9 mpg (7.5 litres/100 km), moving up to 41.9 mpg (6.8 litres/100 km) by October 2009, and now a year later to 45.1 mpg (6.3 litres/100 km), an improvement of 19% over 4 years, and just over 7.5% in the last year...
