(The CT610-lo)
Tullamarine,Melbourne,VIC,Australia -Biglorryblog (UK), photos by Robert W Dick -August 11, 2010: -- The first photos of the eagerly-awaited new trucks from the joint Navistar/Cat 'NC2'project which sees the whole thing kicked off in Australia... The Cat-badged trucks are being assembled from semi-knocked-down (SKD) kits on a dedicated line within CAT's Australian facility at Tullamarine, Melbourne.
(The CT630-lo)
Here's the CT 630 which is based on the International Prostar---but the major thing is both these products are badged as 'CAT' trucks. The ground clearance and angle of approach/departure are also practically unchanged compared to the ICE Vito... Mercedes-Benz will deliver 100 Vito E-CELL vans to customers between August and December this year. Half each will be taken into operation in Berlin and Stuttgart, and further units will be used in the Basque region of Spain early next year. These customer trials for the Vito E-CELL are scheduled for four years and roughly 80,000 km per vehicle, after which the 100 vans will be returned to Mercedes-Benz. A further 2,000 units are already planned from 2011...
