REGULATIONS * USA - ARA: CSA 2010 to be delayed. FMCSA to publish timeline

Washington,DC,USA -The Trucker -2 April 2010: -- An industry update put out Thursday by the American Trucking Associations says that “full implementation” of the Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 Initiative (CSA 2010) will be delayed to 2011, but the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration insists the “launch” will not be delayed until next year... CSA 2010 replaces SafeStat with a new Safety Measurement System (SMS) that measures the previous two years of roadside violations and crash data. With SMS, every inspection counts, not just out-of-service violations, and both driver and carrier safety performance are monitored... CSA 2010 has been tested in a handful of pilot states, and was expected to roll out nationwide beginning in July...
