* USA - Navistar Sees '10 EPS Rising On Military Orders

Chicago,ILL,USA -Dow Jones, by Bob Tita -10 March 2010: -- Commercial truck maker Navistar International Corp. said Wednesday it will raise its 2010 profit outlook when the company's delivery schedule for military vehicles is completed in the coming weeks... Navistar's military business is taking on increased importance this year, as weakness persists in the commercial truck and engine market. Navistar's fiscal first quarter results were much lower than expected, as the company's profit fell 93% from a year ago... Navistar and other truck makers have been mired in a sales slump since 2007, caused by falling freight volumes and reduced access to credit keeping trucking companies from replacing their fleets. Illinois-based Navistar expects industry- wide truck sales in the U.S. and Canada to increase by 5% to 10% from 2009. * Spotlight falls on Western Star’s 109 in. BBC model

St. Louis,MO,USA -Fleet Owner -Mar 10, 2010: -- Western Star, a division of Daimler Trucks North America, showcased its 4900 109 in. BBC model with a unique powertrain option at the National Truck Equipment Assn.’s Work Truck Show here... The truck features a Detroit Diesel DD13 engine and Allison 3000RDS transmission. This powertrain combination for 109-in BBC configurations is only available in Western Star trucks, the company said... The 109 is the shortest BBC in its class ... The truck is available with a 12,000 to 20,000-lb. front axle, and 21,000 to 46,000-lb. rear axles... Western Star also announced a partnership with Allison Transmission to offer a specially designed Allison Optimized package for its trucks... * Isuzu bringing back gas-powered N-Series

St Louis,MO,USA -Fleet Owner By David Cullen -Mar 10, 2010: -- Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc. announced here ahead of The Work Truck Show of the National Truck Equipment Assn. that production of its gas-powered N-Series trucks will resume early in the second quarter of next year. The gas versions will be sold as 2012 model-year trucks... According to Isuzu, it has reached an agreement with General Motors to be supplied with the GM gas engine and transmission used for Isuzu’s gas-powered NPR, NPR HD and gas crew cab models... The gas-powered N-Series will boast several new features, including a 6-sp. automatic transmission that will be standard. * Nissan enters commercial arena with NV standard and high-roof van

* Workhorse delivers updated W62 gas chassis to UPS

St. Louis,MO,USA -Fleet Owner -March 11, 2010: -- UPS has taken delivery of an updated Workhorse Custom Chassis W62 gasoline-powered chassis, Workhorse announced here at the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Work Truck Show... The upgraded W62 includes a 6.0-liter GM Vortec gasoline engine designed for 20% better fuel economy than the previous 8.1-liter Vortec in previous models. The W62 is rated at 17,000, 19,500 and 23,500 lbs. GVWR... For customers seeking more power in their step vans, Workhorse is also offering a 2010 6.4-liter MaxxForce 7 diesel powertrain for its 2010 W62 platforms.
