Bombala,NSW,Australia -The Bombala Times -17 Feb, 2010: -- Politicians from across the state have been invited to hop into a truck as part of TruckWeek 2010, and our very own Bombala Council Mayor has happily accepted... To be held from February 21 to 27, TruckWeek will bring trucking operators together to educate and inform the community about the importance of the trucking industry, what issues the industry will face in the coming years, how to drive safely around trucks, and careers available in the trucking industry... As part of TruckWeek, ATA NSW has invited all state members of parliament and local mayors to spend a couple of hours with a trucking operator to get a better understanding of the industry and the issues it faces every day... * TNT thinks hybrids are dynamite
Mascot,NSW,Australia -ATN -February 3, 2010: -- With 10 Hino 716 Hybrids already in service, express freight specialist TNT is upping the ante in the green stakes by ordering an additional 10 of the trucks... TNT regional director Rod Barnes says hybrid trucks have reduced the company's carbon footprint, but had injected a sense of pride into its workforce... Barnes says TNT has noted a drop in exhaust emissions with the hybrid fleet and a reduction in fuel consumption... * South Australia - Gets new rest stops
Adelaide,SA,Australia -ATN -February 15, 2010: -- Work has started on four new rest stops as well as three existing sites on the Dukes Highway in South Australia... The Rudd Government will spend $2.6 million on the project in a bid to increase safety... The new rest areas will be constructed 11km east of Tailem Bend and 6km west of Border Town in the westbound direction and 16.5km east of Tailem Bend and West of the entrance to Culburra eastbound...
