The weekend's Operation Air, Land and Speed campaign yielded the third-highest number of violations since the effort began in 2006
Richmond,VA,USA -The Associated Press/The Trucker -14 July 2009: -- Virginia State Police issued citations for nearly 8,300 violations on Interstates 95 and 81 as part of a weekend traffic-enforcement campaign... State police say troopers stopped 2,077 speeders and 240 reckless drivers on I-81 and 4,749 speeders and 504 reckless drivers on I-95 on Friday and Saturday. On each interstate, six motorists were charged with drunken driving, and a total 35 felony drug arrests were made on both roads. They also issued 330 safety-belt violations. Other violations weren't specified... The weekend's Operation Air, Land and Speed campaign yielded the third-highest number of violations since the effort began in 2006... * Troopers go undercover to nab aggressive drivers
Elma,WASH,USA -KING 5 News, by DREW MIKKELSEN -July 14, 2009: -- Semi-truck drivers are giving state troopers a hand and a ride to help catch aggressive drivers... A two-week, federally funded crackdown began on rural highways in Spokane and Grays Harbor Counties on Monday morning. The State Patrol is targeting drivers who drive aggressively near or around commercial vehicles... State troopers will be riding in the cabs of trucks looking for drivers who cut off trucks or follow them too closely... Passenger car drivers cause more than two-thirds of all crashes involving commercial trucks, according to Washington State Patrol Sergeant Joe Ross...
