* Germany - MAN Receives Order Over 386 Trucks From Saudi-Arabia

Frankfurt,Germany -Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal -4 May 2009: -- MAN AG said Monday that Saudi Arabian building contractor Mohammed A. Al Swailem Co. has ordered 386 trucks from the Munich-based company. In the statement, it didn't elaborate on the order value... The order comprises 300 MAN TGA-WW 40.400 6x4 tippers and water tankers, to be delivered as completely knocked down kits and assembled in the new MAN plant in Jeddah... A further 60 TGAWW 41.400 8x4 are complete vehicles with 12-cubic-metre mixer bodies. In addition, MASCO has ordered 26 MAN TGM all-wheel drive vehicles for construction site operation..


* USA - Cummins to Temporarily Close Columbus MidRange Engine Plant

Walesboro,Ind,USA - Trailer Body Builders -May 8, 2009: -- Cummins Inc. is temporarily closing the Columbus MidRange Engine Plant (CMEP) in Walesboro, Indiana, as a result of Chrysler’s decision last week to idle its manufacturing operations while it undergoes bankruptcy reorganization... CMEP is the sole manufacturing site for the 6.7-liter turbo diesel engine used in the heavy-duty Dodge Ram pickup truck. The plant will close effective May 15 and be down until Chrysler resumes pickup truck production... The shutdown affects a total of approximately 690 workers at CMEP...
