REGULATIONS * Australia - Long haul pays off for NSW transporters
NSW,Australia -Farmonline Stock & Land, by SHEENA COFFEY -18 Feb 2009: -- After a long haul and lagging behind the states for many years, the end of February will see NSW begin trialling the volume-based livestock loading scheme already in place in Victoria, South Australia and Queensland... The scheme allows transporters to load their truck to a volume or animal welfare density level rather than a specific weight... This trial will be the first step in aligning loading volume across the states... (Picture: Dominic Shanahan, Shanahan's Transport, Wodonga)
