LAWS * USA - Anti-idling truck law goes into effect

Friday was a red-letter day for the Clean Air Board of Central Pennsylvania, as the legislation they fought for finally went into effect

Carlisle,PA,USA -The Carlisle Sentinel, by Heather Stauffer -February 8, 2009: -- As of Friday, most trucks and buses are no longer allowed to sit with their engines running for more than five minutes out of every hour... The enactment of statewide legislation was sweet and long-awaited news for members of the Clean Air Board of Central Pennsylvania (CAB), which advocated such a bill for two years before it was passed in October 2008... CAB members aren’t the only people happy to see the new legislation go into effect. Jim Runk is president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Motor Trucking Association, and he said the group worked with CAB on the bill...
