Winter storms Sunday and Monday wreaked havoc on the highways in the Northeast and Northern Plains
Washington,DC,USA -Traffic World, by Thomas L. Gallagher -12 Jan 2009: -- Heavy snow led to a pileup of more than 50 vehicles on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire Sunday. The highway was closed in one direction for five hours, according to news reports... The National Weather Service warned of a cold system threatening the Northern Plains Monday, moving south and east. Frigid arctic air blowing in across Canada is bringing snow to Montana, the Dakotas and Minnesota. In Michigan, eight inches of snow fell.
