Its no-idle system is now sold in new semitrucksRockford,IL,USA —The Rockford Register Star, by Alex Gary -Dec 15, 2008: -- Bergstrom Inc. in November received two separate patents for a system it is already selling, one it thinks will save millions of gallons of diesel fuel... Bergstrom developed a 130-pound, self-contained system that sits under a semitruck’s sleeper unit, the compartment behind the cab, and powers climate controls and other devices quietly without the driver having to leave the engine running, burning costly diesel fuel... There are 3.5 million long-haul trucks in the United States and Canada, one-third containing sleepers.Bergstrom has been selling the system, called No-Idle Thermal Environment, as an aftermarket product and now it’s available as an option on International and Freightliner trucks...
