ANALYSIS * USA - Truck Volume Seen Falling 10 Percent
Washington,DC,USA -Traffic World -4 Dec 2008: -- A freight industry analyst is forecasting truck traffic will decline 10 percent in 2009, pushing a surface transportation recession in the United States into its fourth year... Noel Perry of research firm FTR Associates in a conference call with investment firm Stifel Nicolaus said the decline could be even worse for truckers that specialize in segments of the economy that are being hit the hardest and carriers that have customers in financial peril... Pointing to bankruptcy filings among retailers, he said the national economy will see "the very visible failure of large companies"...
