Accident * Australia - Delays truckies by a day

Canberra,Australian Capital Territory,Australia -The Canberra Times , by JOHN THISTLETON -6 Aug 2008: -- Five-hundred laden trucks and their drivers waited most of yesterday while fire crews cleaned up a dangerous mix of flammable chemicals and poisons off the Hume Highway after a B-double truck overturned... Heavy vehicles queued in breakdown lanes several kilometres long after the Sydney-bound truck overturned near a bend 2km south of Marulan... The accident happened at 5.10am, and trucks did not start rolling again until after noon, while cars were still negotiating dusty detours 12 hours later...NSW Fire Brigade's Southern Highlands duty commander, Inspector Steve McGuiness said the overturned truck was carrying Dimethyl Disulfide, a petro-chemical degreaser, and although it had not spilt it was highly flammable. Paint thinners and rabbit poison had tipped over and also had to be cleaned up...
