Melbourne,Australia -AAP/The Melbourne Herald Sun, by Kellee Nolan -June 23, 2008: -- A Melbourne businessman drove a truck through protesters who were forced to jump on to the bullbar and hang on for their lives as he drove down the road, a court heard... Anthony Gordon Elliot is accused of driving his truck through a group of about 15 picketers blockading the driveway of his engineering factory in Kilsyth, in Melbourne's east, on May 4 last year... Three of them were forced to jump on to the bullbar and hang on as the truck turned on to a road at about 20km/h, Ringwood Magistrates Court heard today... Mr Elliot, 34, of Wonga Park, in Melbourne's outer east, faces 15 charges, including three of reckless conduct putting a person in danger of death... He has pleaded not guilty to all charges... Mr Elliot's lawyer, Sean Grant, accused Laurie Burley, an Australasian Meat Industry Employees Union (AMIEU) branch organiser, of "colluding" with other witnesses against his client... The case, before Magistrate Brian Clifford, continues...
