Washington,DC,USA -Land Line Magazine, by Charlie Morasch -April 15, 2008: -- The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Research and Innovative Technology Administration has formally requested ideas for its plans to deploy and link traffic information and navigational systems with individual vehicles’ crash avoidance systems... Crash-avoidance systems include technologies such as automatic braking systems, vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems, and other systems that often temporarily take control of a vehicle away from a driver... The government and other public and private stakeholders were supposed to make a decision on the technology by 2008, according to a white paper published in 2005 by ITS America...
