FUEL COSTS SOLUTIONS* USA - Survey Says: Americans Just Want to Keep on Trucking

What Americans really want is technology investment to cut their fuel bill

New York,NY,USA -The Wall Street Journal, by Ana Campoy -April 4, 2008: -- ... At least that’s what a recent survey suggests... When asked which kind of technology should get the highest priority in terms of investment dollars over the next decade, 37% picked “fuel efficiency and alternative fuels.”... That beat all other answers, including medicine, the environment, and security and defense... And who’s pining for cheaper gas? Men—especially those who can remember when it cost less than a buck a gallon. Some 42% of the over-55 crowd chose fuel-technology as their priority, compared with 31% of the 18-34 year-old demographic. And 43% of men voted for more fuels; women favored more cash for medical technology... The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, a public agency that promotes business in that Virginia county, commissioned the survey by Ipsos Public Affairs...
