* Brazil - One year after sale, Mercúrio invests in expanding fleet
Sao Paulo,SP,Brazil-TNT in the news (Netherlands ) -14 January 2008: -- Expresso Mercúrio, acquired a year ago by the Dutch multinational corporation TNT Express, plans to buy another 100 trucks this year to service the expected growth in demand for highway cargo transport due to the good moment in the Brazilian economy. 'In 2008, the market is going to grow at double digits. It is going to be a better year or at least equal to 2007,' declared TNT/Mercúrio president Roberto Rodrigues, estimating that the market for express deliveries grew about 15% in 2007... In 2007, it bought 97 tucks and 88 vans for collecting and delivering merchandise and with the acquisitions this year, Mercúrio is going to reach approximately 1,500 owned vehicles, counting trucks and vans. The company also used about 2,000 subcontracted vehicles, depending on the time of the year...
