Finland -Yle reports/The Barents Observer (Kirkenes,Norway) -3 Dec 2007: -- Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhenen proposes to introduce a road tax for Russia trucking companies. The measure will offset the cost of road repairs, the premier argues... During the Prime Minister's weekly radio interview, Vanhanen said his government is considering introducing a road tax on east-bound heavy goods traffic... According to Vanhanen, 90 - 95 percent of road traffic heading east comprises Russian trucks... The last years have seen a sharp increase in truck traffic across the Finnish-Russia border.
