TRUCKS' CONTROL * USA - Rell announces new round of truck inspections to curb violations
Hartford,CON,USA -Danbury News Times (Danbury,CT), by ROB VARNON -Oct 01, 2007: -- Gov. M. Jodi Rell plans to continue deploying extra truck inspectors roving state highways and other roads as Connecticut cracks down on truckers who ignore safety regulations... State Police troopers and Department of Motor Vehicle inspectors will return to roads, Rell said Sunday, where they will pull over trucks and inspect them at the road side. Troopers will carry portable scales, according to Rell's office... A similar inspection blitz from Sept. 17 to 19 uncovered more than 2,500 truck violations and yielded $79,730 in fines...
