New Features: The Great American Truck Show (GATS) in Dallas,Texas
* Volvo to display new aerodynamic and safety features
Dallas,TX,USA -The Trucker -22 Aug 2007: -- Volvo Trucks North America reports the company recently added several new options and features to its trucks to further enhance their productivity, increase uptime and increase fuel economy. The new components will be on display at the Volvo booth at the GATS in Dallas... Also at GATS, Volvo will display two Volvo VNs equipped to meet the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program for tractors. A Volvo VN 780 with a full-height sleeper and a VN 730 mid-roof sleeper will be used to show attendees the enhanced aerodynamics and other fuel-saving strategies used to achieve EPA’s Certified SmartWay designation for highway sleeper tractors... * Western Star to celebrate its 40th anniversary at GATS
Redford,MI,USA -The Trucker -22 Aug 2007: -- Western Star is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2007, and will mark the occasion at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, August 23-25.... Western Star began with engineering and operations located in Cleveland, Ohio, and production in Canada. In the following years, the company was headquartered in Kelowna, British Columbia. After it was acquired by Freightliner LLC in 2001, the headquarters relocated first to Cleveland — its original point of origin — and later to Redford, Mich. * Kenworth, Peterbilt display first PACCAR 12.9-liter engine at GATS
Dallas,TX,USA -The Trucker -22 Aug 2007: -- Kenworth Truck Co. and Peterbilt Motors Co. are both displaying a PACCAR heavy-duty engine in a Kenworth and Peterbilt Class 8 models for the first time in the U.S. at this week’s Great American Trucking Show here... * PACCAR, Eaton join to develop heavy-duty hybrid technology
Bellevue,Wash,USA -The Trucker -22 Aug 2007: -- PACCAR and Eaton Corp. announced today that they have entered into an agreement to jointly develop proprietary hybrid technology for heavy-duty commercial vehicles in North America... The innovative new products will be introduced exclusively in Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks in the North American market, targeted for initial production by the end of 2009...
