*Sweden - Volvo’s Five-Month Truck Sales Drop 10%
Stockholm,Sweden -Bloomberg (NY,USA) -25 June 2007: -- Sweden’s Volvo AB said its truck sales fell 10% first five months of the year, as U.S. deliveries plunged after stricter emissions standards made trucks more expensive... Sales in the five months through May fell to 82,865 vehicles worldwide... The figures include sales from the Nissan Diesel brand, which were consolidated as of April 1. Not including Nissan, sales for Volvo declined 17%... Volvo, the parent company of Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks, said in May that first-quarter North American truck orders, an indicator of future sales, fell 80% to 5,273...

* USA - Hino to Build W. Va. Truck Plant
Tokyo,Japan -Bloomberg (NY,USA) -25 June 2007: -- Japan's Hino Motors Ltd. said it will spend $8.6 million to open a new U.S. assembly plant in West Virginia in November... The Williamstown, W. Va., factory will employ about 80 and will build 2,500 medium- and heavy-duty trucks a year, said in a statement... Hino, which is 50% owned by Toyota Motor Corp., is Japan’s largest heavy-duty truck maker...
