Tom Wyss, R-Fort Wayne, is urging his colleagues to convene a legislative study committee and examine the way Indiana regulates big trucks on Hoosier roads. Lawmakers should listen and appoint a committee without delay... Wyss, a longtime advocate for public safety, argues that reckless driving, faulty equipment and impossible schedules set by trucking companies are behind many of the serious truck crashes on Indiana roads. He wants the committee to find a way to get more Indiana State Police troopers or commercial enforcement officers on the roads with the power to cite truckers for speeding and other traffic violations...
