Driver fatigue * Australia - Laws divide trucking industry
Stones Corner,Queensland,Australia -ABC Online -28 Feb 2007: -- The Queensland trucking industry is divided over new driver fatigue laws that come into force tomorrow... Under the laws, drivers will be penalised three demerit points for log book infringements... Freight West director Rodney Drain says it is hard enough to get drivers and he thinks many will join a planned week-long strike by owner drivers... "I've heard there's quite a lot of drivers going out, whether they're sticking to it and do it, I'm not too sure. It'll slow things down, definitely," he said...
