Reynolds -Jan 28, 2007: -- Chattanooga businessman Less Lee says his truck companies have grown so much, and offer the potential for more, that he has reached a crossroads... The three companies' 2006 gross revenue of just under $200 million is a record for the businesses, Mr. Lee said. His companies' uncollected accounts receivables are less than one-tenth of one percent, he said. International Truck has told Lee-Smith it's among the top 10 percent of dealers based on units sold and delivered, even though Chattanooga isn't one of the largest markets, he said... The goal is to accelerate the interns' learning curve, Mr. Lee said, and in 10 years have them at the level where Lee-Smith's managers were at age 40. Other Lee-Smith workers are being moved up the ranks as well, he said, and Lesco Logistics is using mentoring to create experienced managers...
