* India - Aiming for 25-30% growth: Ashok Leyland
Mumbai,India -Moneycontrol.com -7 Nov 2006: -- ED Finance of Ashok Leyland, K Sridharan says heavy-duty range vehicles especially the truck segment are showing significant demand pool... He expects to maintain margins at FY06 levels in FY07 where the sales are likely to cross 80,000 units...

* Japan - Toyota Shares Rise to Record on Forecast, Tie-up With Isuzu
Tokyo,Japan -Bloomberg, by Naoko Fujimura & Kae Inoue -Nov. 8, 2006: -- Shares of Toyota Motor Corp., the world's second-largest automaker, rose to a record after the company increased its annual profit forecast and said it will buy a stake in Isuzu Motors Ltd... Toyota shares gained as much as 2.7 percent to 7,290 yen and changed hands at 7,270 yen as of 10:49 a.m. on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Isuzu shares surged as much as 13 percent to 471 yen. Shares of Hino Motors Ltd., a truck-making affiliate of Toyota, rose as much as 8.2 percent...

* UK - Leyland keep on trucking...
UK -Leyland Today -8 Nov 2006: -- Bosses at Leyland Trucks have embarked on a series of changes to their working practices in a bid to increase the number of vehicles they're able to produce... Last year the company built 17,000 trucks but Leyland Trucks' managing director Stuart Heys said they were gearing up to increase their capacity to 25,000 by 2008... The announcement is a shot-in-the-arm to the 1,000 workforce, who are now the UK's only truck manufacturer... The change has been made possible after the staff agreed to a groundbreaking labour agreement which increases the workers' hours from 37.5 hours a week to 40... This has immediately increased capacity to 21,000 trucks...
