Newcastle,NSW,AUST -ABC Local News -20 Nov 2006: -- The Australian Trucking Association is today launching a campaign aimed at reversing negative perceptions the public may have about the industry... Craig Johnson from the association says the five-month campaign involves a national competition to find the safest and most skilled young truck driver... "The trucking industry over the past five years has had about [a] 22 per cent decrease in fatal crashes for articulated trucks at least, so obviously ... one death is one too many, but there is ... a long-term rate of improvement that we've seen in conjunction with high productivity in the industry," he said...
