DANGEROUS DRIVERS

* Australia - Quarry trucking firm says drivers limited to 105kmh
Queensland,Australia -The Sunshine Coast Daily -19 Oct 2006: -- A Caloundra trucking operator says claims made about truck drivers travelling at excessive speeds along the Eumundi-Kenilworth Road are not “entirely true’’... Caloundra Sand and Gravel general manager Ray Francis has up to 15 trucks working along the road, each which can reach maximum speeds of 105 kmh... He said his drivers stuck to the road rules and if they didn't would face dismissal... Speeding truck drivers along the road are being targeted by police and Queensland Transport following outcries from residents about the dangers to motorists... Belli Creek residents have demanded the Queensland Government fast-track upgrading of the road... They claim B-doubles are travelling as fast as 135kmh with drivers tailgating other motorists and refusing to give way at the one-lane No. 2 Crossing of Belli Creek... Mr Francis did not deny some truck drivers might be causing the problems but said it wasn't fair to clump all drivers under an irresponsible label...
