What if large and powerful electromagnets could move shipping containers across special rail lines like a magnetized screw can pick up staples?... It's possible, said Steve Roop, an assistant director with the Texas Transportation Institute... Demand for more freight transportation continues to grow, he said... But whatever solution to transportation capacity is chosen will require more money than traditional transportation funding mechanisms and also require private interest to partner with governments, both men said...
