Kansas,Kansas City, Mis,USA -The Kansas City Star, by Brad Cooper, -July 01, 2006: -- Missouri’s highway chief has an idea for all you drivers who get jittery running with the big rigs on Interstate 70: separate lanes for trucks and cars... “There’s just this tremendous anxiety of mixing the family sedan at 3,000 pounds in with the 18,000-pound 18-wheelers,” said Pete Rahn, director of the Missouri Department of Transportation... The cost of widening I-70 between Kansas City and St. Louis is estimated at $3.5 billion for adding a lane in both directions. Rahn proposes adding two lanes in each direction...
