Earnings - USA - Trucking Companies Up
NEW YORK,NY,USA -AP -June 07, 2006: -- YRC Worldwide Inc. helped push shares of trucking companies higher Wednesday, after the Overland Park, Kan., company raised its second-quarter earnings outlook. YRC Worldwide cited a healthy economy and pricing that has been a little bit better than originally anticipated. YRC shares jumped 6.8 percent higher, but recently settled at $39.96, up 96 cents, or 2.5 percent... The Nasdaq Transportation Index is up 30 points, or 1.1 percent, to 2,572.34... As for other trucking companies, US Express Enterprises shares were recently up $1.20, or 5.5 percent, to $23.10; Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. shares rose $1.74, or 5.6 percent, to $32.55; and Arkansas Best Corp. shares rose $1.33, or 3.2 percent, to $42.70...
