Compromise - Belgium - Overtaking ban instead of new speed limit for trucks

BRUSSELS,Belgium -Expatica (Netherlands) -7 June 2006: -- A special federal Cabinet meeting decided on Wednesday against imposing an 80kmh speed limit on trucks... A compromise was eventually reached to impose an overtaking ban on all trucks travelling on two-lane motorways... "An overtaking ban is less symbolic, but has more effect," Transport Minister Renaat Landuyt said... The new overtaking ban for trucks will be applied as a general rule, with exceptions for three-lane roads...
