Biodiesel - USA - Soybeans help power county trucks

Road commission testing if 'biodiesel' is better for equipment

Port Huron,MI,USA -Port Huron Times Herald, by ANDREA MASON -2 Apr 2006: -- What do you get when you cross soybeans with truck fuel? ... It's not a punch line; it is biodiesel, and it's gaining popularity... Some who use the oil-and-diesel blend include the county road commission, which is looking to biodiesel to possibly make its trucks and graders last longer. Most are farmers who feel they're supporting their fellow farmers every time they fuel up... The most common form of biodiesel is made by combining vegetable or animal fat and diesel fuel. Soy oil is extremely common in these blends. Although anywhere from 1% to 99% oil can be mixed with the diesel, the most common blend is 20% soy oil and 80% diesel...
