Illegality - Japan - Trucks' fuel tanks changed to pass checks
Osaka,Japan -The Yomiuri Shimbun -19 Dec 2005: -- A subsidiary of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. illegally increased the load capacity of more than 2,000 trucks over the three years to 2004 by installing smaller fuel tanks before vehicle inspections to make the vehicles lighter, construction ministry sources said Monday... The wholly-owned subsidiary, Pabco Co. in Ebina, Kanagawa Prefecture, changed the tanks back to larger ones after the trucks had been registered... The ministry also will file a criminal complaint against the company on suspicion it violated the Road Trucking Vehicle Law by cheating to pass vehicle inspections...
