Sales Record - South Korea - Hyundai, GM Daewoo Reports Monthly
South Korea -The Car Connection, by Peter Chang -4 Nov 2005: -- South Korea's top automaker Hyundai Motor posted a monthly record of 232,570 vehicles in October, up from 211,360 a year ago. Exports rose 10.4 percent, to 181,813 units, while domestic sales went up 8.6 percent, to 50,757 units... The automaker said it would continue strong sales during the remainder of this year, thanks to the rising sales in domestic sales of the new version of its best-selling Sonata... At GM Daewoo, sales of 112,631 vehicles in local and overseas markets last month set a monthly sales record for the second consecutive month... Strong demand for vehicles assembled in China, Thailand, India, Colombia, and Venezuela fueled a big rise in CKD exports to 50,774 units, up 80 percent from a year ago. Exports of complete vehicles increased 22.1 percent in October to 52,349 units from 42,887 units a year ago...
