USA -Transport Topic, byThelma Guerrero -22 Nov 2005: -- Mexico will revamp and add to its refineries to produce the ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel it will need by the end of 2008, and in the meantime will buy ULSD from U.S. sources for a handful of retrofitted trucks used in making cross-border deliveries, Mexican officials said... Retrofitting Mexican trucks to reduce their polluting emission would remove one objection some groups in the United States have to allowing those trucks into the country, officials said.Pemex, Mexico’s state-owned oil company, is conducting a feasibility study to determine the cost of modifying refineries to produce ULSD with 15 parts per million of sulfur content, said Fernando Sotres, a Pemex spokesman... The standard now in Mexico is 200 ppm, he said...
